Dr. Vaishali Rama Wadhe is a seasoned academician, researcher, administrator, and social contributor with more than two decades of experience in technical education, approved by the University of Mumbai. She is currently serving as a Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology, Sion, Mumbai, and holds the important administrative responsibility of Dean – Industry & Institute Interaction Cell.
Dr. Wadhe began her academic career as a Lecturer at Government Polytechnic, Mumbai, and joined the K J Somaiya Institute of Technology in 2005 as an Assistant Professor, where her commitment to academic excellence, research, and institutional development led to her elevation as Associate Professor and subsequently Professor under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS).
She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering with specialization in Cloud Computing, where her research focused on cloud implementation, applications, and security. She completed her Master of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, and her undergraduate studies in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Her academic interests span Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, IoT, Robotics, Text-to-Speech Synthesis, Smart Agriculture, and Healthcare Technologies.
Dr. Wadhe has made significant research contributions with 20+ international journal publications, numerous international and national conference papers, an internationally published technical book on Cloud Computing, and five published national patents. Her research work emphasizes practical, scalable, and socially relevant technological solutions, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, energy management, and environmental sustainability.
As an academic leader, she has played a vital role in strengthening industry–academia collaboration, facilitating consultancy projects, funded research, student internships, and institutional MoUs. She has served on several key academic and governance bodies including the Local Inquiry Committee, Result Moderation Committee, and Central Assessment Process of the University of Mumbai, and as a Branch Counselor of the IEEE Student Chapter. She is also a Convener of the Robotics Cell, actively promoting experiential and project-based learning among students.
Dr. Wadhe’s excellence has been recognized through several prestigious state-level and national awards, including the Ideal Teacher Mumbai Award–2024, Star Maharashtra Award–2018, Chairman’s Award for Best Research Publications, Women Researcher Award, and Samaj Ratna and Samaj Bhushan Awards for her social service initiatives.
Beyond academia, Dr. Wadhe is deeply committed to social welfare and inclusive development. She consistently advocates for the rights, security, and empowerment of underprivileged and marginalized communities, dedicating her time and expertise to educational outreach and social causes. Her professional journey reflects a rare blend of academic excellence, leadership, innovation, and social responsibility, making her a respected figure in both academic and social spheres.

Google Analytics Implementation and Website Development for Madhuban Eco Retreat, a flagship sustainability-driven hospitality initiative of the Somaiya Group”, during March 2025-October, 2025. This project served as a live industry–academia consultancy and student experiential learning model, aligning with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Industry 4.0 practices.
