Introduction

Prof. Vidya Sagvekar has been serving as an Assistant Professor at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Engineering & Information Technology (KJSIEIT) since 2008, bringing with her over a decade of academic excellence and commitment to student development.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, she has pursued her entire academic journey in the city and nearby regions. She holds a Diploma in Industrial Electronics from Government Polytechnic, Bandra (2001), a Bachelor of Engineering from Pune University (2004), and a Master of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication from Mumbai University (2013). She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at NMIMS University.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of Engineering Education, Medical Image Processing, and Deep Learning, with a strong focus on applying advanced computational techniques to real-world healthcare challenges.

Prof. Vidya has published and presented research papers at International , national-level Journal and conferences. Also, successfully guided numerous mini, minor, and major student projects, nurturing innovation and research aptitude among learners.

She teaches core and interdisciplinary subjects such as Operating Systems, Digital Logic and Computer Architecture, Data Structures, and the Internet of Everything. Beyond teaching, she has actively contributed to institutional development by serving on various academic and administrative committees and has also worked as Lab-In-Charge of the NLP Laboratory.

Passionate about mentoring and lifelong learning, Prof. Vidya enjoys reading, guiding students beyond the classroom, and engaging in recreational games, reflecting her belief in holistic education.
