Prof. Vidya Sagvekar has been serving as an Assistant Professor at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Technology (KJSIT) since 2008, bringing with her extensive academic experience, dedication to teaching, and a strong commitment to student development.

Born and brought up in Mumbai, she has completed her academic journey in Mumbai and nearby regions. She holds a Diploma in Industrial Electronics from Government Polytechnic, Bandra, completed in 2001; a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Pune University, completed in 2004; a Master of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the University of Mumbai, completed in 2013; and a Ph.D. from NMIMS University.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of Engineering Education, Medical Image Processing, and Deep Learning, with a strong focus on applying advanced computational techniques to real-world healthcare challenges.

Prof. Sagvekar has published and presented research papers in international and national journals and conferences. She has also successfully guided numerous mini, minor, and major student projects, fostering innovation, research aptitude, and practical problem-solving skills among learners.

She teaches core and interdisciplinary subjects such as Operating Systems, Digital Logic and Computer Architecture, Data Structures, and the Internet of Everything. Beyond teaching, she has actively contributed to institutional development by serving on various academic and administrative committees. She has also served as the Lab-in-Charge of the NLP Laboratory.

Passionate about mentoring and lifelong learning, Prof. Vidya Sagvekar enjoys reading, guiding students beyond the classroom, and participating in recreational games. Her academic journey reflects her strong belief in holistic education and the overall development of students.
