- Abstract
Electrical Impedance tomography (EIT) is a non-invasive, less expensive and safe medical technique of imaging the spatial distribution of electrical conductivity inside an object (particularly human body) by injecting an alternating current to contact electrodes in various patterns placed on surface of object and measuring boundary potentials which is imaged. Image Reconstruction in EIT involves solution to forward and inverse problem. This paper focuses on implementing forward problem using two different software application platforms. A finite element model (FEM) using COMSOL Multiphysics and EIDORS (Electrical Impedance and Diffused Optical Reconstruction) and are compared based on model building complexity and computational time.
