Online Search
Library has maintained local workstation opac and web based opac.
Local workstation opac software is installed in library to search books availability in library.
To retrieve library books information outside of campus user can use Web opac to know the status of books availability.

Open Access
Library provides an open access system whereby students are allowed to pick the books as per their requirement.
Subject wise shelving arrangement as per Dewey Decimal Classification schedule is followed. With the help of updated Bookworm Library Software online catalgue of books is developed.
It gives pinpointed information about every book to readers which helps to save their time in locating the book. This extends upto giving rack number of each and every book in KJSIEIT Library.

RFID Card
Institute issues RFID identity card to reduce circulation time of books issued by library and smoothen the circulation process.
Students can save their time. This card is used for Identity card and Library Card.

Internet & WiFi Access
Institute provides internet facility to every user, user can use internet to access their email, e-databases, e-journals and e-books within campus.
Also institute provides every user their own internet login credentials (svv net id) to access wifi.
User can use their credentials at two places at a time (eg. mobile and laptop). User get the wifi credentials at the time of when they get their identity card.

Auto Email Reminders
Every user gets an auto reminder for issued books before due date and after due date.
Through this reminder user comes to know the books which are due for return and they can renew books online by using http://opac.somaiya.edu

Online renewal and Online reservation
The in house Bookworm software facilitates Online renewal of the books. The readers can check their library account online and the books can renewed for one more term provided the book is not reserved by other reader.
As the library catalogue is available online, readers can check the books and if all copies of a particular book are out of the library, the book can be reserved.

Interlibrary Loan - Global Common Circulation
Users can avail additional the Book Borrowing Facility to borrow 1 Book for 7 Days from other Somaiya Institutes’ Libraries

Library orientation
KJSIEIT Library is functional in providing world class facilities to its readers.
The newly admitted students are given library orientation for making them acquainted with Library
Library keeps on adding various facilities every year.
To make all students and Faculty members aware about them, library orientation to every class is given by the Librarian at the beginning of their academic year.

Current Awareness Services - Journals and new books
The list of new arrivals is sent to all library readers on email as a ready reference. Also, The content pages of the print journals are scanned and sent to all readers.
